The 2016 Mapex Property Showcase organised by the Real Estate and Housing Developers’ Association Youth (Rehda Youth) will kick off on May 11-15 at the 1 Utama Shopping Centre from 10am to 10pm, the organisers announced in a press release today.
According to the organising chairperson, Carrie Fong Kah Wai, the main objective of the event is to provide an opportunity for Rehda Youth and Rehda members to showcase their properties to the public and to engage with them.
“Unlike the traditional property exhibitions done in halls and convention centres, this property showcase will be a boutique-style showcase located at high traffic locations within the mall where it can be part of a “weekend” shopping experience for the visitors,” she said.
The event this year is themed “A Better Home for A Better Tomorrow” and will feature residential properties from developers such as Sime Darby, Mah Sing and Sunway.
Meanwhile, Rehda Youth is also partnering with Farm Fresh Milk for a recycling-themed competition for students aged 10-12 of SJK (C) Puay Chai 2 during the event. There will be activities for the students to display their creativity while raising awareness about the importance of reusing and recycling.
“The participants will have to turn old milk bottles into something useful such as storage containers, smartphone holders or an artistic expression for the competition,” said Fong.
RM35,000 worth of ONECARD U Points will also be given to visitors through various activities, such as contests.
Rehda Youth has also prepared numerous activities such as face paintings and colouring contests for the children while the adults look at their dream homes.
As part of Rehda Youth’s ongoing CSR Programme, a donation of RM50,000 will be made to an orphanage, where the recipient will be announced later. - The Edge Property
