The Johor government will explain its development plans through a roadshow that will be held beginning next month in all 10 districts in the state.

Mentri Besar Datuk Mohamed Khaled Nordin said Jelajah Johor Berkemajuan would give the rakyat a chance to learn about the government’s plans.

“Economic development must go hand in hand with human capital development.

“We will only achieve true prosperity and stability when Johoreans themselves are able to benefit from the state’s economic progress,” he said in his speech after launching the Johor Media Club’s (JMC) annual general meeting at Persada International Convention Centre here.

In his speech, Khaled said the state media fraternity had played a key role in Johor’s development and transformation plans.

“There is a good relationship between the state government and media practitioners.

“This is evident through the large number of programmes organised between both parties,” he said.

The event was attended by about 100 JMC members.

The club received RM50,000 from the state government and RM10,000 from Kumpulan Prasarana Rakyat Johor Sdn Bhd (KPRJ).

About 15 JMC members were also given aid for medical costs as well as for happy events their marriages and births. - The Star
